About PrenupAnswers

Independent. Educational. Not a law firm — and never will be.

PrenupAnswers exists because the internet failed engaged couples. Search "do I need a prenup" and you get three kinds of results: law firms fishing for clients, wedding blogs gliding past the money conversation, and forum threads from 2013. None of them answer the actual question.

We're an independent educational site for couples in the United States. We explain what prenups cost, how state rules differ, what they can and can't protect, and how to raise the subject with a partner without it turning into a fight. In plain English. With real numbers. Updated every year.

How we're funded

Two ways, and that's it: affiliate partnerships and display advertising. If you click a link to an online prenup service and buy something, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. See the fullaffiliate disclosure.

Commission never decides what we recommend. If a cheaper path is the right path for your situation, that's what the article says — even when it earns us nothing.

What we will never do

When you actually need a lawyer

Online services are fine for straightforward situations. But if one partner owns a business, there's a family-trust, complex stock comp, real estate across states, or a prior marriage with children involved — talk to a licensed family-law attorney in your state. A few hundred dollars of advice up front is cheap insurance for a document that governs your finances for life.
